Emma. My best friend. She died in June at the age of 29. She had Cystic Fibrosis but was told in January she was far too well for the transplant list. We thought she had years left. She obviously didn’t. After she died her family discovered she has been saving up to pay her funeral costs so they didn’t have to bare that burden. She was so courageous. She never let her illness define her and never complained despite a life full of needles, doctors and hospitals. She is an inspiration to me every day. I don’t know how she lived knowing that her life would be cut short but she really did live to the full; gaining a degree and a husband in her short but wonderful life.
