John Seymour – father of self-sufficiency. After his big 90th birthday, he decided his time had come. He stopped eating, supported by family, ex-wife coming to read autobiography to him, his only worry was that the worms would be able to get into his coffin. ¬†As it happened, the coffin did not arrive in time to bury him in. So he was wrapped in a blanket made from his own sheep’s wool. His sons and sons-in-law made a quick bier and we all said thoughts and memories then filled in the grave together.
