Donald Frederick Stanley from being a small child loved model airplanes – remote control ones. Following his death at 78 years, a year later to the day when one of his son’s could travel back from New Zealand, we gathered. Family, friends and members of his model airplane club in Skelmersdale (of which he co-founded) gathered together. We drank bubbly, ate snacks and scattered his ashes on the clubs flying field. At his funeral the theme was ‘forever walking in the sunshine’. Now the theme is ‘forever flying in the sunshine’.
